preston north end 764127 Championship League Football On U.S. TVThe drama that is the Championship League just took another twist and turn Monday night as Preston North End clobbered promotion rivals Southampton 3–1 at Deepdale to move into fifth place, just a point behind and a game in hand over third-place West Bromwich Albion.

In the past few weeks, it keeps on seeming that the top teams are playing each other. That’s easier to do when top six teams in the league are just a few points away from each other.

Looking ahead to this week, be sure to tune into Setanta Sports this Friday at 2:30pm ET for the top of the table clash between first place Birmingham City and second place Derby County. For those of you with ITVN who work during the day, you can watch the match on tape delay at 10pm ET. The match will also be shown live on Setanta Broadband.

Then Sunday features the FA Cup sixth round match between ever-entertaining Ian Holloway and his Plymouth Argyle side against Watford (Sunday, March 11, 2pm ET) on Fox Soccer Channel. Despite sitting in mid-table, Plymouth has to fancy their chances of qualifying for the FA Cup semi-final stages.

Looking at next week’s schedule, Setanta will be broadcasting the following live matches: Stoke City against Sunderland (Tuesday, March 13, 3:30pm ET), and Southampton v Colchester (Friday, March 16, 3:30pm ET).

Good luck with this site…..I'll be eagerly looking forward to Brian's show this summer!

Brian- you and I both may have to focus on the Championship next year since it is obvious City is doing their best to be dropped. Thankfully, Charlton and Watford aren't breathing down our neck yet.
