To Chuck:

Shearer didn't have a great record but you need to understand he took over a team who were losing every week anyway, confidence is a massive factor in any sport and our team lacked any what so ever by the time Shearer came in and it would of been hard for any manager to get that team, plagued by injuries and suspensions, back to full confidence in 8 games. Whether you want Shearer in or not I was trying to point out the fact Ashley said it was the 'best decision hes made since being owner of the club' so it begs the question why he didn't give him the job full time if he felt making him caretaker manager was so great.

To Wizard of Oz:

I agree with your comments on Hughton, if the form does start to dip then he doesn't seem like he'd have the charisma to get the team back on track, i'm pretty sure no Newcastle fan at the moment could dislike Hughton after the job he has done, but it is the same situation with any club that the fans want a manager who they can believe in and think has the passion to get things back on track if they start going wrong. All credit if Hughton can do it, but I just don't feel he can, i'm happy for him to keep his position as caretaker for as long as possible but to commit to giving him the full time job is a bit risky as he doesn't have the sort of connection that Shearer has with the fans. The difference is that people will get on Hughton's back if things start turning sour, whereas the fans will be more patient with Shearer due to his history with Newcastle.

No more about that fat slob M.A. we all know by now what he is like
my concere is about Nicky Butt wanting Chis Houghton as manager
was he not there last year when Chis was in temp charge and won 1 game
in 9 or was it 10, sorry but even now the bubble is sure to bust and
without Shearer in charge we will not be in the top 6 at the end of the season I know it sounds negative but the last 2 games has proved my point
of course it might be different if we spend some money in january but by then we might be out of he top 4 and on the slide down.

Your pro Shearer argument is no better than the standard messianic rubbish being echoed by many fans and lacks any logic.
Shearer was`nt hired post season, because of his abysmal record of three out of a possible twenty four points, plus his total lack of any tactical nous, nor could he get a could`nt care bunch of loosers up for games.
Simple, not rocket science.

Just a few replies

to UTD111:

Apologies for the mix up of chairman and owner, was just an honest mistake. Although with some of Ashley's awful decision making you'd think he was really the chairman and llambas just a puppet! And thank you for pointing out the PR exercise, its my first article and i suppose I just ended up more trying to point out the whole youtube fiasco and got a bit carried away

David Cresswell:

It was starting to get late haha

Girly Mag:

I do kind of address in the final point that the Newcastle fans don't really know what is going on any more. I can understand that a lot is said about the club in the press these days and we don't know if it is true or not, particularly with the sale of the club. But I tried to use some relevant press articles to get my point across, i'd like to know where you found a problem with the article?

Oh dear!
Change the record, yet more lip-service(or head?) to
lame & lazy journalism. How many times are you lot gonna trot out the
same turgid speculation, lies & half-truths (at best), dressed up as the truth?
Know one knows anything, but that doesn't give people license to
make things up.
But, as some old 'sage' once wrote: "A vicious rumor without a leg to stand on, will find some other way to get around".
How depressingly typical.
Both, from you & our self-spinning fans.
If it's in the press, it must be BS.

First, the correction....Mike Ashley isn't and never has been "Chairmen" or even Chairman of United. He's the owner. The closest we've ever had to a chairman is the odious Lamearse......

The other point I would make is, you've omitted the biggest transgression of the lot. This barrowboy and his cronies openly admitted to the Sir Kevin tribunal that they had repeatedly LIED to the fans - but that it was OK because it was just a "public relations exercise"

Beggars belief

Cheers
